ST. PETERSBURG -- The Eckerd Tritons sailing team competed at the USF Trophy event on Sunday, finishing 13th out of 17 teams in attendance.
After seeing a group compete at the SAISA South Top Six regatta on Saturday, the Tritons arrived at USF with promising winds of 7-9 knots. Peter Miller and Peyton Elizabeth Seidle competed in the A group for the Tritons, while the B was Anderson Osinski and Lily Tracey. Eckerd's A team got three races off, followed by the B team. During the 4A race, the wind dropped and switched. Racing stopped after 4B as the wind was no longer sailable. The Tritons finished the day in 13th overall.
Up next for the Tritons, the team will compete at the SAISA Women's Top Nine Invitational on September 20-21 in Winter Park, Fla.
