ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Eckerd Tritons sailing team competed in the first of two regattas this weekend at the SAISA South Top Six race on Saturday. The Tritons took fourth place of six teams present.
The Eckerd A team of
Avery Guck and
Paul Rodrigues Jr. posted the second-best point total of the group with 58 total points. The team posted five top-finishes on the day, including a second-place standing in the third race. Guck and Rodrigues closed the day with a fifth-place mark in race No. 7 before earning fourth in the final two.Â
The Tritons B team comprised of
Jordan Vieira and
Tia Soultankakis concluded the day with 93 points, good for fourth of the group. The tandem started the regatta strong with a fourth-place standing in the opening race and ended with its second-best outing in eighth in the final. The C team collected a total of 133 points, with its best race coming in the opener with a seventh-place mark.Â
Eckerd sailing will close out its weekend at USF Trophy tomorrow.Â
