Box Score 2 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After resuming Friday night's game that was suspended in the fifth inning due to weather, the Eckerd baseball team dropped both games Saturday to Embry-Riddle by scores of 9-0 and 8-5.
Eckerd fell behind early in game one on Friday night. The Eagles jumped out to a four-run lead in the bottom of the second. Neither team scored any more runs until the game was resumed in the bottom of the fifth on Saturday. The Eagles added two apiece in the fifth and sixth frames. Another run in the seventh sealed the deal for the Eagles, taking game one of the series in a 9-0 shutout.
Eckerd was first on the board in game two, with Joey Bazydlo scoring on a sacrifice fly by Luis Garrido. The Eagles flipped the score in their favor in the fourth, leading 2-1. The Tritons responded with a two-run inning of their own thanks to a two-run shot by Kam Gelwick. Embry-Riddle equalized in the bottom of the fifth, tying the game at three. Dawson Jones and Dylan Escobar vaulted Eckerd back into the lead, 5-3 in the seventh. The Eagles tied it in the seventh and flipped the score in their favor once again in the eighth. Trailing 8-5, Eckerd went down in the ninth 1-2-3, falling in the second game of the day.
