ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd open sailing teams have been selected to the ICSA Fleet Race Championships in St. Mary's City, Maryland on May 27-30.
Eckerd's open team earned the No. 28 seed of 36 schools and is making its first appearance since 2023.
Eckerd made eight top-five finishes in open competitions including a runner-up finish at the SailPack Oriental in a field of 20 on March 29-30 and a second place finish at the
SAISA South Top Six Invite On September 14. Eckerd placed sixth at the SAISA Open Championships two weeks ago.
Eckerd's selection is the 21st overall national tournament appearance for sailing, and the eighth open fleet race appearance.
As a department, Eckerd has now made four postseason appearances this spring.
