Two Tritons Receive CSC Academic All-District Accolades

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Koa Baker and Timothy Thompson were honored for their academic merit on Tuesday with a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) annual Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team.

Baker, a junior from Eagle Mountain, Utah, boasts a 4.0 GPA in psychology. He appeared in 23 games, averaging 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. He scored a career-high 23 points on November 9 over Allen (SC), adding a career-high 14 boards as well.   

Thompson, a junior from Georgetown, Guyana, holds a 3.62 grade-point average in business administration. He appeared in 28 games on the year, averaging 8.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game. He was tabbed the SSC Defensive Player of the Week on February 17 and was tabled to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and D2ADA Academic Achievement Award last year. 

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.5  or higher in order to qualify for selection. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
