MELBOURNE, Fla. - After leading Eckerd to a win over the nationally-ranked Moccasins last week,
Isaiah Placide has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week.
Placide, from Hampton, Georgia, averaged 32.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks while playing 29.0 minutes per game.
He opened the week with 35 points, three rebounds, and an assist against No. 18 Florida Southern. He shot 55.6 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from the perimeter, with 33 of his 35 points coming in the second half.
He followed with 30 points, five boards, a block, and a steal while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and 60.0 percent from deep at No. 1 Nova Southeastern.
This season, he averages 19.6 points, 4.5 boards, and 0.7 steals per game.
The award is the second career honor of Placide's career.
Eckerd (10-13; 5-10) travels to Tampa on Wednesday for a 7:30 PM tipoff.
