JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Eckerd sailing team completed one of two regattas over the weekend on Saturday, taking eighth out of 15 teams at the Dick Allsop Trophy. The Tritons finished with 123 points, 60 from their A and 63 from the B squad.
Racing began at 10:00am following a short postponement waiting for breeze to fill in. Conditions featured an easterly wind ranging from 7-15 knots with oscillations and strong current throughout the day. Light showers passed through at times, but racing continued uninterrupted. Eight races were completed in both A and B divisions before wrapping up around 5:30pm. The A team of
Peter Miller and
Peyton Elizabeth Seidle saw five races with placements inside the top seven, including three sixth-place finishes and a third-place mark in race five on the day. The B team of
Anderson Osinski,
Lily Tracey, and
Will Alvarado enjoyed three races inside the top seven, which included a second-place finish in the eighth and final race of the regatta.
The Tritons sailing team will wrap up day two of the Open ACC's tomorrow in Connecticut.
