ST. PETERSBURG -- Reggie Fear of Eckerd men's golf has checked in at No. 5 nationally in the individual rankings released by Clippd on Wednesday. It is believed to be the highest ranking ever for the Eckerd men's golf program.
Fear currently ranks No. 1 in the south region, which has six players ranked in the top 15 and three inside the top seven nationally. The sophomore has been the Tritons' top performer in all three tournaments played so far this season, recently finishing third out of over 80 golfers after shooting 10-under par at the Currahee Collegiate Invite last Monday and Tuesday. Fear earned seventh in the tournament prior to that out at Flagler, and tied for first at the Griffin Invite to begin the season.
