HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Reggie Fear opened his collegiate career with one of the best possible scenarios, winning the Griffin Invitational with a six-stroke lead with an 8-under 205 at the Mission Inn Resort on Monday and Tuesday.
Eckerd sat in second after the opening round, one stroke off the lead following a 292. The Tritons followed with a 287 and 291 for a three-round total of 870, tying for third and five strokes off the top spot.
- Fear registered 12 birdies and 38 pars.
- Fear sat in third after the second round but vaulted up the leaderboard with a 67 in the final round for the win. His 67 was the best in the third round and tied for the best overall round in the field.
- DiZinno added six birdies and 39 pars.
- Campbell posted an eagle, seven birdies, and 34 pars.
- Kusserow competed as an individual with 27 pars.
