CHARLESTON, SC - The Eckerd open sailing team finished seventh with 259 points at the SAISA Spring Open Fleet Race Championships over the weekend.
Eckerd surged up the leaderboard on Sunday to place seventh after sitting at 14th after Saturday's races.
Carter Morin skippered the A Division with
Brooks Jordan and
Tess Levanway as crew. They finished with 141 points in 10th place, their best finish being fifth in race No. 10.
Lily Schwartz skippered the B Division with
Sophie Leduc and
Eloise Weiss as crew. They placed fifth in race No. 9 and fourth in race No. 11 to finish ninth in the division with 128 points.
Charleston won the event with 67 points.
Eckerd returns to competition to cap the regular season next weekend at the SAISA Women's Fleet Race Championships.
