FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Tritons beach volleyball team dropped a pair of contests in a tri-match in Fort Myers, Florida to Florida Gulf Coast and Tampa both by scores of 5-0 on Tuesday.
Eckerd (0-6) dropped its first match of the day to FGCU (7-2), 5-0. FGCU took all five flights in straight sets.
Addie White and Jocelyn Escoffery battled in the No. 4 position, but fell 21-16, 21-17.
Tampa (4-5) won their draws in straight sets. Escoffery and Jesse Meghreblian nearly forced a third set, falling 21-19 in set two.
Eckerd is set to host its annual Battle on the Bay tournament, Friday and Saturday at the Baker Beach Volleyball Complex for their first matches at the new facility. The Tritons face Jacksonville at 8:00 AM and Missouri State at 10:00 AM on Friday.
