MELBOURNE, Fla. - After producing a .429/.529/1.357 slash line over four games last week,
Cam Collier has been tabbed the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week.
Collier, an outfielder from St. Petersburg, Florida, led Eckerd, going 6-for-14 with six RBIs, four homeruns, five runs, and four walks.
He opened the week going 1-for-4 with two RBIs in a midweek win over Purdue Northwest.
He added four solo homeruns in the series at Barry, opening the series with a homerun in game one on Friday night. He added two homeruns and a walk in game two of the series. In the finale, he added two hits, one homerun, two walks, one intentional walk, and a stolen base.
For the season, Collier is hitting .318, which is second best on the team. He leads the team in hits (27) and homeruns (6) and ranks second with 16 RBIs.
The award is the first of Collier's career and Eckerd's first player of the week since
Michael Ballard on March 6, 2023.
Eckerd (11-11; 3-6 SSC) returns to action on Tuesday with a trip to Valdosta State (Ga.) at 5:00 PM.
