MELBOURNE, Fla. - After leading Eckerd to its first SSC series win of the season,
Ella Coiner has been tabbed the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week.
Coiner, from Bradenton, Florida, slashed .500/.583/.667 over the series with six runs, six RBIs, and four stolen bases.
She capped the series with her best performance, going 2-for-4 with six RBIs, two runs, two doubles, and a stolen base. Her six RBIs in a game are the most in a season since 2022.
She went 3-for-5 in game two with two runs and two stolen bases. Coiner also added a hit, run, and stolen base in the opener.
This season, she tops the team with a .377 batting average, five doubles, and 12 RBIs. She's also a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen bases.
The award is the first of Coiner's career and Eckerd's first player of the week since
Skylar Redish on February 28, 2022.
Eckerd (6-11; 2-4 SSC) returns to action this weekend, hosting Florida Southern for a three-game series starting with a single game Friday at 6:00 PM.
Coiner is the 22nd SSC Player of the Week the year for all of Eckerd Athletics, tying the department's program record in a year.
