ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd open sailing team opened the spring slate at the Mendelblatt Team Race at the Doyle Sailing Center on Saturday and Sunday.
Eckerd went 1-8 in the opening round with a 1-3-4 winning combination against Florida State.
The Tritons added three wins in the second round with victories over Rollins (1-2-5), The Citadel (1-3-5), and Clemson (1-3-6).
Eckerd's skippers were
Brooks Jordan,
Carter Morin, and
Lily Schwartz, and the crews were
Sophie Leduc,
Tess Levanway, and
Eloise Weiss.
Eckerd finished with a 4-14 record in eighth place. The College of Charleston won the event with a 17-1 record.
The Tritons return to the water next weekend, hosting the SAISA Top 18 Invite at the Doyle Sailing Center.
