ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team was well-represented on the annual College Sports Communicators (CSC) annual Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, with five Tritons receiving the honor:
Liam Armstrong,
Lucas Berglund,
Viktor Milton,
Luciano Rodriguez, and
Tommy Shepherd.
Liam Armstrong, from Lake in the Hills, Illinois, holds a 3.73 GPA in business administration. He has appeared in 26 games over his career, logging a goal at Stetson (Fla.) this year. He is a two-time recipient of the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
Lucas Berglund, from Uppsala, Sweden, boasts a 3.97 grade point average in psychology. He has appeared in 64 games over his career, logging nearly 4,200 minutes with a goal and an assist. He is a three-time recipient of the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award. This is his third honor to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Viktor Milton, from Birmingham, England, holds a 3.68 average in marketing. He appeared in 31 games over his career while contributing to seven shutouts on the back line. He is a two-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll and received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
Luciano Rodriguez, from Maldonado, Uruguay, holds a 3.57 GPA in international business. He appeared in 41 games over his time at Eckerd with seven goals and nine assists while logging over 3,000 minutes. He is a two-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll and the D2ADA Academic Achievement award.
Tommy Shepherd, from Ware, Hertfordshire, England, boasts a 3.58 grade point average in psychology. He appeared in 61 games with 17 goals and nine assists over his career. He is a two-time SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award. In the 2022 season, Shepherd was tabbed to the All-SSC second team, D2CCA All-Region First Team, and D2CCA All-American Third Team.
The 2024 Academic All‐District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in order to qualify for selection. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
