CHARLESTON, SC - The Eckerd open sailing team opened its fall slate at the SAISA Top Nine Invite, placing eighth with 183 points.
Racing in a combined division, Eckerd's best finish was to start the regatta as they placed 10th in the A Division.
Carter Morin skippered the A Division with
Brooks Jordan as crew. The tandem finished 15th with 85 points.
Morgan Smith skippered the B Division with
Sophie Leduc (1-3) and
Lily Schwartz (5-6) as crew, finishing with 98 points and in 17th.
Host College of Charleston won the event with 33 points, a 35-point cushion.
Eckerd returns to the water next weekend at the SAISA Singlehanded Championship in Melbourne and the SAISA South Top Six Invite in Winter Park.
