Eckerd Finishes 18th at ICSA Open Fleet Race National Semifinals

KINGS POINT, NY - The Eckerd open sailing team finished 18th in the eastern division at the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Semifinals with 367 points through 13 races at the US Merchant Marine Academy.

The top nine teams from the eastern and western divisions move on to the finals tomorrow.

Eden Nykamp skippered the A division with Amelia Johnson (1-2), Brooks Jordan (3-12), and Tess Levanway (13) as crew. Nykamp and Jordan's best placing of the day was 13th in race nine.

The A Division finished competition with 198 points, in 18th place 

Matthew Monts (1-12) and Carter Morin (13) skippered the B Division with Jordan (1-2) and Johnson (3-13) as crew. Monts and Johnson finished 10th in race eight. 

Eckerd's B Division combined for 169 points to finish 17th. 

Yale won the eastern division as one of the nine teams to advance on to the national finals tomorrow, while Georgetown won the western division.
