ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd open and women's sailing teams have been selected to the ICSA Fleet Race Championships in Kings Point, New York.
The women's championships are set for May 23-26, and the open championships are May 30-June 2.
Eckerd's women's team received the No. 34 seed of 36 teams selected. They are making the program's first appearance since 2019. Eckerd's open team earned the No. 36 seed of 36 schools and is making its first appearance since 2018.
Eckerd has both teams appearing at nationals for the first time since 2018.
Eckerd made six top-three finishes in open competitions and six top-five finishes in women's competitions. Eckerd placed sixth at the SAISA Open Championships and fifth at the SAISA Women's Championships.
As a department, Eckerd has now made five postseason appearances, the second most in program history, the most since six in 2015-16.
