EUREKA, Mo. -
Amelie Alcantara continues to sit high up on the leaderboard following a 4-over 76 during round two of the NCAA Championships at Fox Run Golf Course on Wednesday.
Alcantara was sixth after the first round and is tied for 12th place following Wednesday's competition.
For the second day in a row, Alcantara began with an aggressive start as she carded a birdie on the opening hole. She followed with four straight pars before posting back-to-back bogeys on holes No. 6 and No. 7. She rallied by knocking in a 15+ foot putt for a birdie on No. 8.
Alcantara made the turn at even par. She pared her first two holes of the back nine but ran into trouble with a bogey on No. 12 and a double-bogey on No. 13.
Following two pars, she bogeyed back-to-back holes to slide down the leaderboard. However, she finished strong, sinking a 12-foot putt for birdie on the final hole to vault 10 slots up the leaderboard.
She is tied for seventh in par-4 scoring, with a 4.10 average, and manages a 4.88 average on par-5s.
Her nine birdies over the two rounds rank tied for fourth most in the field.
She sits 10 strokes off Nova Southeastern's Olivia Gronborg, who leads the field.
She tees off for the final round tomorrow at 8:20 AM (CT).
