Box Score 2 WINTER PARK, FLA. - Despite a pair of tight contests with Eckerd taking the lead late, the Tritons baseball team dropped their doubleheader at No. 11 Rollins, 7-6 in game one and 7-3 in game two, at Alfonds Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Rollins was first on the board in game one, with two runs in the first inning. Eckerd answered back with a pair of their own, scoring on a fielding error and an RBI bunt single by Joe Wike in the second.
Kyle Abbott hit an RBI single in the fifth to give the Tritons the 3-2 favor. Rollins equalized in the bottom of the frame, knotting the score at 3-3. The Tars produced a go-ahead run in the sixth to lead 4-3. However, Kyle Ericson hit a three-run homerun to left field to tip the scales back in Eckerd's favor, 6-4, in the eighth. The Tars responded with a three-run inning in the bottom of the frame to secure the win 7-6.
The Tars and Tritons had six innings of scoreless play in the finale. Eckerd jumped out to a three-run lead in the seventh with an RBI single by Michael Ballard and a two-run double by Tyler Cox. However, Rollins brought in three runs in the seventh to tie the game at three apiece. The Tars added four runs in the eighth with a two-run homer by Smith for the 7-3 victory.

- Cox went 2-for-4 in the finale with two RBIs, and Jake Andriole also went 2-for-4 in the game.
- Ericson hit his fifth homer of the season, going 3-for-4 in the day's opener with three RBIs.
- In his first weekend start of the season, Brendan Lawry tosses 6.1 innings of work in the finale, with a perfect inning in the sixth, while limiting the No. 11 Tars to five hits and two runs.
- Peter Stavrakos recorded his first run of the season.
