Eckerd Places Third at Turner Team Race

CHARLESTON, SC - The Eckerd open sailing team placed third at the Turner Team Race with a 9-3 record over the weekend 

Griffin Richardson, Carter Morin, and Matthew Monts served as the team's skippers, with Brook Jordan, Elissa Marinez, and Amelia Johnson as crew. 

Eckerd went 4-2 in the first round with wins over Rollins, Embry-Riddle, Florida Tech, and The Citadel. The Tritons advanced to round two, where they put up a 5-1 mark, with five straight victories over Jacksonville, Rollins, Embry-Riddle, Florida Tech, and The Citadel.

Jacksonville won the event with an 11-1 mark. 

Eckerd returns to the water next weekend at the Rollins Trophy in Winter Park, Florida.
