RALEIGH, NC - With consistent scores across both divisions, the Eckerd sailing team placed third with 114 points in a stacked field at the SailPack Oriental Intercollegiate over the weekend.
Eden Nykamp and
Brooks Jordan comprised the A Division, finishing with 58 points in fourth place. The duo bounced back from a sixth and eighth-place finish at the start of the regatta to place third in race three before vaulting up the leaderboard with a victory in race five. They ended the event with four straight fifth-place finishes.
Griffin Richardson and
Sophia Hacket finished with 53 points and a third-place finish in the B Division. The tandem sat steady at the top of the leaderboard with four straight third-place finishes to open the event, followed by a runner-up placing in the fifth race.
Host NC State won the regatta with 50 points.
