LAKELAND, Fla. - Tim Scholl sat steady in the top-25 of the leaderboard throughout the Sunshine State Conference Championships, finishing tied for 21st as he closed his Eckerd career at Grasslands Country Club on the Sunday through Tuesday event.
Eckerd opened with a 314 on Sunday and followed with a 322 on Monday before closing the event with their best round of 310 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 946 and an 11th place finish.
Tim Scholl (73-74-70) T21st
- Scholl stat tied for 18th after the first round and tied for 21st following the second round.
- His final-round 2-under 70 was one off his career-low.
- Led the team with a 3.12 average on par-3's.
- Ranked tied for sixth overall on par-4's, playing the holes even.
- Led the team with 31 pars.
- Also carded 11 birdies, good for 14th among all players.
Noah Cone (77-82-81) 49th
- Ranked second on the team with 30 pars over the three rounds.
- Carded three birdies over the tournament.
Michael Bechard (79-85-77) 50th
- Carded 23 pars and seven birdies.
- Made the turn at 1-under on Tuesday's round.
Shane Darby (85-81-83) 53th
- Shot 22 pars over the event.
Joe Lagana (85-87-82) 54th
- Posted 20 pars over the three rounds.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Scholl posted his second-lowest three-round total of the season.
- Scholl ends the season with a 73.5 stroke average, just 0.7 points from the program record set by Jeff Evanier in 2012-13.
- Scholl has performed well at the championships, coming in 17th in 2019 and 26th in 2021.
- Nicolas Quintero of Barry won the individual title with a 7-under 209, following a three-player four-hole playoff.
