POMONA, Calif. - Sophomore, Tommy Shepherd, was selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-American Third Team on Wednesday afternoon.
Shepherd tallied 11 goals and 26 points this season. He scored 11 goals in a 10-game stretch, including a hat trick and three assists against Trinity (Fla.) on September 7. He also scored a goal in each of the first four conference games of the season while recording a point in seven conference games.
Shepherd ranked 19th nationally in goals per game (0.73), 21st in points per game (1.73), tied-33rd in total goals (11), and tied-37th in total points (26).
His 11 goals rank 13th in program history for single-season goals.
The Ware, Hertfordshire, England Native was named to the D2CCA First Team All-South Region and Second Team All-SSC earlier this month.
Shepherd is only the second player in Eckerd men's soccer history to receive All-American honors, with Matt Duffy being named third-team All-American in 2012.
He is one of two Sunshine State Conference players to be named an All-American alongside Florida Southern's Henri Tophoven.
A total of 39 student-athletes from 29 institutions are represented on the three All-America Teams in 2022.
Sports Information Directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences sponsoring men's soccer selected the D2CCA All-America Team. The process begins at the regional level with all First Team All-Region picks advancing to the national ballot.
