The Eckerd men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday to open the season hosting Lynn at 5:00 PM.
"We are really excited about our guys. They all worked extremely hard and come with great energy and enthusiasm each and every day. They are positive individuals and have grown a lot from last year. Their preparation has been outstanding, and they love playing college basketball. We come and compete every day and try to put forth a great effort and prepare with each day," said head coach Bryan Galuski
'98.
This year's squad features six newcomers mixing in with eight returners.

"We return an individual,
Daniel Love, who scored many points for us last year, so we are excited to have him back. To have 18 points back in your lineup is really exciting. I think last year, even last year, we had certain guys playing large minutes, and they were asked to do a lot of things that were out of their technical roles. It will be a much more comfortable year where guys like
David Swedura and
Joshua Galloway can just do what they do and be comfortable out there without having to do so much. Looking to have a big step forward with
Kent Garard,
Mekhi Perry, and
Daimar Dyall-Richards in terms of their development. They had an opportunity last year to get some minutes and are going to have to be much better this year to round out our roster. I am excited about our newcomers.
Carr Thiam is a talented young man on both sides of the ball, and he brings great leadership and energy each and every day, and we are going to look to him to help us in the offensive category.
Jordan Kwiecinski certainly poses a great threat from the exterior as well as the interior and has a cerebral way about him on the floor so he will help our offense.
Dante Bouchard gives us the grittiness and the ability to stretch the defense, and he has a winning-type mentality that's needed to compete in the SSC. I think we have a great collection of guys that are going to give the Tritons a good opportunity this year to succeed," added Galuski.
