ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd sailing team competed at the Truxtun Umsted and SAISA Fall 2 vs. 2 Team Race over the weekend.
Eckerd finished 14th at the Truxtun Umsted with 243 points in Annapolis, Maryland.
Eden Nykamp skippered the A Division with
Amelia Johnson (1-4, 9-10) and
Anna O'Reilly (5-8) as crew, finishing with 126 points.
Griffin Richardson skippered the B Division with 117 points with
Brooks Jordan (1-8) and
Tess Levanway (9-10) as crew. The Tritons finished sixth in races one and nine.
Georgetown won the regatta with 72 points.
Eckerd finished third at the SAISA Fall 2 vs. 2 Team Race in Daytona Beach, Florida, with a 1-5 record, collecting a win over Embry-Riddle in the opening round. Ronan Sulkin and
Lily Schwartz served as skippers, with
Elissa Martinez and
Tess Heilman as crew.
Jacksonville won the event with a 5-1 record.
Eckerd returns to the water next weekend at the Lake Virginia Invitational in Winter Park and at the SAISA Women's Sprint in Melbourne.
