CHARLESTON, SC - The Eckerd sailing teams competed at the SAISA Men's and Women's Singlehanded Championships over the weekend.
Eden Nykamp competed for the Tritons in the women's championship finishing fourth with 27 points.
Nykamp opened the event with a pair of fourth-place finishes before climbing up the leaderboard with two third-place finishes in races three and five. Her best finish of the event came in race six, where Nykamp finished second.
Charlotte Rose of Jacksonville University won the event with seven points.
Cooper Robinson competed for Eckerd in the men's championship, finishing 17th with 136 points.
Richard McCann of Miami claimed the event with eight points.
It was EC's first time competing at the singlehanded championships since 2014.
Eckerd returns to the water next weekend, hosting South Points #3 at the Doyle Sailing Center.
