NORMAN, Okla. - Eckerd's
Tim Scholl was honored for his academic merit by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), tabbed an All-American Scholar as released by the organization on Friday, July 30.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Division II Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, participated in 40-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0, maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2, and must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Scholl boasts a 3.96 GPA in International Business and has led Eckerd in stroke average all three seasons. This spring, he posted a 74.33 stroke average over four events with a season-low 69 to open the season at the Saint Leo Invitational (Feb. 22)
He has competed in 20 tournaments in his three years, finishing in the top-25 in half of them. Scholl also holds two of the top-10 spots in the program records for single-season stroke average.
Off the course, Scholl is a three-time recipient of the SSC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll and a recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement award. Additionally, he is a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Committee (IAC).
Scholl is one of just 14 student-athletes within the Sunshine State Conference to receive the honor.
