ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Former men's basketball standout Josh King '08 has been named the head coach of USK Praha in the Czech Republic, as announced by the organization on July 13.
King spent the previous three seasons as the assistant coach of MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in Germany, reaching the BBL playoffs each season.
′′I am very excited to be named the new head coach of USK Praha. Prague is a beautiful city and is known worldwide, and I am looking forward to being able to call the city home and bring an interesting basketball style to the club," said King. "I can't explain how excited I am to be a head coach and can't wait to get involved in the preseason process and start working with the team."
Prior to his international coaching career, King coached at the University of New Hampshire (2016-18), Marshall (2010-14), UMass-Lowell (2009-10), and Vassar (2008-09).
During his time at Eckerd, King appeared in 62 games over two seasons while scoring nearly 700 points and shooting 41 percent from behind the arc. He also holds the single-game record for 3-pointers made with nine. The team made two NCAA tournament appearances, including the Sweet 16 in 2007 during his time. He also helped guide the team to the SSC Tournament Championship title in 2007 as well.
