FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Eckerd beach volleyball team dropped a pair of 5-0 decisions on the road at Division I Florida Gulf Coast Wednesday afternoon.
In both matches, Florida Gulf Coast (13-11) swept all five draws in straight sets.
Playing in the No. 5 draw, Dana Dull and Martina Melicherova gave Eckerd its best chance to take a point in each match, falling 21-15, 21-18 in the opening match. In the second match, the pair bounced back from a 21-8 opening set loss to narrowly take the second before falling in extra points, 22-20.
Eckerd (3-12) returns to action this weekend to conclude the season at the AVCA Small College Championships in Tavares, Florida. EC opens up the three-day tournament at 8:00 AM Friday against Spring Hill (Ala.).
