Eckerd Men's Basketball Inks Atraiel Washington to National Letter of Intent

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- Eckerd men's basketball head coach, Bryan Galuski, announced the first addition of the 2021 recruiting class with Atraiel Washington, who recently signed his National Letter of Intent.

Washington, a 6-foot-8 forward from Camden County, Georgia, is a standout athlete at The Rock School, a high-level High School National Team featuring some of the country's best high school basketball players.

At The Rock School, Washington is averaging 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season. He was named to the Kreul Classic All-Tournament Team earlier this season after posting a career-high 25 points against St. Andrews High School (Dec. 22) and pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds against Cypress Bay High School (Dec. 20).

"We are very excited to welcome Atraiel to the Triton family," said Galuski. "He immediately adds size, toughness, and athleticism to our front court, and he has the ability to use both hands around the rim and stretch the floor offensively for us."

Atraiel is the son of Casandra and Alex Washington. He plans to major in visual art at Eckerd.
