Scholl Paces Eckerd at McDonough Cup

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Tim Scholl continued his impressive play this fall, tying for 25th place at the McDonough Cup as Eckerd capped its fall slate at the Rio Pinar Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. 

The Tritons opened with a 295, their second-lowest round of the season, followed by rounds of 299 and 300 for a three-round total of 894. 

Scholl fired a 3-under 69 to open the tournament, highlighted by four birdies and 13 pars. He followed with a 72 in the afternoon, opening the round with a par and three straight birdies (holes 11-14). He sat tied for fourth following the first two rounds. Scholl concluded with a 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 25th. 

Cade Patterson was the team's next low finisher, tying for 49th. He opened with a 76 and followed with a 75 Monday afternoon. He shot another 75 on Tuesday, highlighted by a pair of birdies. 

Michael Bechard opened with a pair of 76's on Monday and carded a 79 on Tuesday.

Noah Cone opened with an 86 Monday morning but trimmed 10 strokes in the afternoon for a 76. He continued to improve in the final round, firing a 1-under 71, one stroke shy of his career-low. 

Joe Lagana posted his best round Monday morning with a 74 and followed with an 84 in the afternoon. He added a 76 on Tuesday. 

Javier Calles of Nova Southeastern claimed the individual title with an 8-under 208. The Sharks also won the team title with an 844.
