ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Eckerd sailing team placed 16th with 196 points at the Atlantic Coast Tournament over the weekend.
Sean Tallman and Sophia Hacket raced in the A Division, finishing 12th with 83 points. The duo opened competition strong with a fifth-place finish in the first race and added a sixth-place finish in race four.
In the B Division, Griffin Richardson (1-2, 5-6) and Eden Nykamp (3-4, 7-8) skippered the boat with Amelia Johnson as crew, finishing 17th with 113 points.
SUNY Maritime won the event with 96 points, a four-point advantage over Jacksonville.
Eckerd returns to the water next weekend in Wilmington, NC, at the SAISA Coed and Women's Championships and the women host the 2 vs. 2 Team/Fleet Race at the Doyle Sailing Center.
