SEBRING, Fla. - A trio of Tritons -
Noah Cone,
Tim Scholl, and
Cade Patterson - posted top 20 finishes at the Nancy Nichols Invitational at the Sun 'N Lake Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Eckerd placed sixth with consistent scores of 302-300-301 for a three-round total of 903.
Cone led the Tritons, tying for 11th place. He opened with his best round Monday morning a 74, highlighted by 14 pars. He followed with a 75 in the afternoon another 75 on Tuesday.
Scholl was the team's second-best finisher, tying for 14th. He opened with a 76 Monday morning and followed with a 74 in the afternoon and a 75 on Tuesday.
Patterson posted rounds of 75 and 77 on Monday before shooting his best round on Tuesday with a 74, highlighted by three birdies for a 18th place finish.
Michael Bechard opened with a 77 before trimming three strokes in the afternoon for a 74. He followed with a 77 on Tuesday to place 25th.
Nick Zizzo posted rounds of 81-79-78.
Matthew Soucinek of Southeastern (Fla.) took the individual title with a 5-under 211. Southeastern also claimed the team championship with an 856.
Eckerd returns to the course for its final fall event on November 1 and 2 at the McDonough Cup in Winter Park, Florida.
