ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- Eckerd student-athletes continued their distinction in the classroom, producing another strong semester academically with a 3.43 department GPA over the Fall term.
All 14 Triton teams posted a GPA over 3.0. Women's tennis led the department with a 3.85 GPA while men's soccer topped the male sports with a 3.48 GPA.
Individually, 144 Tritons, which is over 70 percent of our student-athletes, posted a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Additionally, 19 student-athletes recorded a 4.0.
"To reach our highest department GPA of 3.4 is a true testament to all the hard work our student-athletes put into the classroom," said Director of Athletics, Tom Ryan. "This year presented many challenges, and I am extremely proud of our student-athletes for their continued exceptional work academically, athletically, and across campus."
Last month, Eckerd was honored once again for its academic excellence, with the Presidents' Award by the NCAA for an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 94, ranking tied for ninth nationally.
