TRITONS THIS WEEK: What's Coming On March 26-April 1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Triton athletics slows down a bit this week with just five teams in action due to the holiday weekend. Beach volleyball, baseball, and softball will all play at home during the week while tennis is also in action on the road.
 
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Monday: vs. Lincoln Memorial | 1:00 PM (DH) | Eckerd Beach Courts
  • Eckerd (11-5) returns to action after finishing the weekend with a 3-1 record picking up wins over Saint Leo, Florida Southern, and Jacksonville at the Saint Leo Invitational. Eckerd looks to continue the strong play as the Tritons host Lincoln Memorial for two matches Monday. Paula Hoffmann and Kaitlyn Sibson's win streak extended to 15 matches as the duo won four matches over the weekend.

  • Eckerd (13-15, 6-9 SSC) looks to carry the momentum of a three-game sweep of Rollins over the weekend as the Tritons host Keiser on Monday and travel to Barry for a three-game SSC series on Thursday and Friday.
  • Mitch Calandra led Eckerd over the series with Rollins last week with two hits in each game finishing the series 6-for-12 with four RBIs. Garrett Hiott and Chase Achuff also produced in the series with five hits apiece during the three games. Achuff currently has an eight-game hitting streak and is hitting .428 during the stretch.
  • The Triton pitching staff has a stellar weekend combining for a 2.67 ERA over the three games with Rollins while starters Dillon McCollough, Nick Alonzo, and Robin Allen combined for a 2.14 ERA and 30 strikeouts in the series. Joey Favetta also picked up three saves over the weekend without giving up a run.
  • NAIA No. 13 Keiser (25-7) is coming off a series win over Webber International. Marco Rivera leads the Seahawks with a .504 batting average along with 20 doubles, nine homeruns, and 47 RBIs. Victor Hughes leads the team on the hill with 49 strikeouts and a 2.60 ERA over 34.2 innings.
  • Barry (12-17, 1-11 SSC) is coming off three losses at Tampa over the weekend. Jonathan Quintana leads the team's offense with a .345 batting average, eight homeruns and 35 RBIs. Pablo Arevalo leads the team on the mound with a 4.66 ERA and 26 strikeouts.

  • Both Tritons tennis teams picked up wins over Franklin Peirce last week with dominant wins. Eckerd looks to build off those wins as they continue conference action this week on the road traveling to Lynn on Tuesday and Florida Southern on Thursday.

  • Eckerd (14-18, 5-10 SSC) looks to carry the momentum of a series win over Rollins as the Tritons continue conference play hosting Nova Southeastern for a three-game series on Thursday and Friday.
  • Crystal Garcia, Kaleigh Floyd, and Nikole Van Gennep led Eckerd at the plate last week with each collecting four hits in the series with Rollins while Floyd and Garcia each had four RBIs as well. Garcia and Van Gennep both have active reached-base streaks with Garcia's stretched to 10 games and Van Gennep at seven games.  
  • Van Gennep and Ally Costa lead the team in the circle. Van Gennep leads the team with a 2.11 ERA and 72 punch-outs over 116.1 innings. Costa has allowed just nine hits in her last four games (21.2 innings).
  • Nova Southeastern (16-16, 5-7 SSC) is coming off a doubleheader split with Flagler. The Sharks are led by Dana Edmundson at the plate with a .392 batting average, seven doubles, and 20 RBIS. Lexie Storrer leads the team in the circle with a 2.42 ERA and 57 strikeouts over 156 innings pitched.
