ST.PETERSBURG, Fla.- The Eckerd baseball team continues conference play as they head to Winter Park to take on Rollins for a three-game series.

LAST TIME OUT
-Â Eckerd dropped a midweek non-conference contest against Florida Southern, 6-3. The Eckerd bats erupted in the sixth inning for three runs. Cochrane drove in the first run for the Tritons on a sacrifice fly to center bringing in Achuff who doubled to lead off the inning.
Tom Buonopane then blasted a shot over the left field fence for the next two runs. The Tritons were unable to produce another run as the Mocs preserved the win.
Robin Allen (0-2) took the loss despite a solid performance, allowing only one run on four hits with four strikeouts.
AT THE PLATE
- Cochrane leads the Tritons at the plate with a .405 batting average while driving in nine runs. Cochrane had his 17-game hit streak snapped in Tuesday's loss. Cochrane has smacked eight doubles on the season, tied for second in the conference.
- Three other Tritons lead the offense while hitting over .300 –
Nick Conti (.386),
Mitch Calandra (.318), and Buonopane (.338). With a single in the sixth inning Tuesday, Conti has reached base in every game this season (18) while extending his hit streak to five games. Buonopane has reached base safely in his past 12 games.
ON THE HILL
- Starting pitchers Dillion McCollough (2.30) and
Alex Moore (3.96) had impressive games last week. Moore pitched seven shutout innings while fanning nine. McCollough pitched a complete game one-hitter while striking out 11. McCollough leads the conference in opposing batting average (.132), strikeouts (43), and strikeouts looking (17).
ABOUT ROLLINS
- Rollins comes into the series on a four-game win streak. The Tars racked up 10 runs over Assumption and 15 over St. Anselm this week.
- Five of the Tars starting lineup are hitting above .300 - Mike Purcell (.382), Brian Brooker (.355), Peter Nicoletto (.333), Christopher Corbe (.318), and Philip Burket (.300). Brooker and Corbe have each smacked four home runs while Nicoletto has hit six doubles and three home runs.
- Brad Case leads the way for the Tars on the mound. In 33.1 innings, Case has a 1.62 ERA while striking out 35 batters. Relief pitcher Joey Vecchione has three saves over eight appearances.

- Rollins took the series from Eckerd last season 2-1. Eckerd took the win in the finale as Buonopane and
Daniel Autiello each had two hits in the win.
