Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Five Eckerd pitchers combined on a six-hitter, but the offense couldn't get things going as the Tritons fell in their final non-conference contest of the season on Tuesday night to Keiser (Fla.), 4-1.
Jack Silberman,
Kelsey Lunde,
Mike Eagan,
Zach Hoppe and
Gardner Nutter were all effective on the mound for Eckerd. Silberman (0-6) took the loss, allowing three runs - only one earned - over three innings while fanning three. Lunde followed with three strong innings while Hoppe and Nutter each tossed a scoreless inning. Â
The Seahawks (32-19) plated their final run against Eagan in the seventh after Tyler Goff led off with single and eventually came around to score on a sacrifice fly.
Eckerd (15-21) scored its lone run in the bottom of the second on a RBI double by
Daniel Autiello that scored
Mitchell Calandra from first.
The Tritons had chances to score in each of the final three innings, but stranded four runners on base. The team's best opportunity came in the seventh with runners on the corners and one out. However, Keiser reliever Tylor Craft worked out of the jam by striking out the next two hitters.
Grant Banko's walk in the first inning extended his on-base streak to 12 games while
Justin Glover's single in the seventh ran his hitting streak to eight.
The Tritons begin the home stretch of conference play this weekend, traveling to Saint Leo for a three-game series beginning on Saturday.
