PROBABLE STARTER: Jack Silberman (0-5, 9.49 ERA)
LAST TIME OUT: The Tritons dropped two of three games over the weekend to Lynn University in a Sunshine State Conference series. Eckerd took game one of Saturday double-header, 10-8 in 10 innings, but the Knights took the series by winning the rubber game, 17-5.
CLUTCH CONTI: Freshman
Nick Conti came up big in the late innings of Saturday's win over Lynn. Conti's solo home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning tied the game and forced extra innings; he followed with a two-out, three-run walk-off blast in the 10th to give Eckerd the 10-8 victory.
STREAK STOPPED: Grant Banko collected hits in the first two games of the Lynn series last weekend to run his hitting streak to 10 games, but was held hitless in Saturday's finale to bring it to an end. The senior's streak is the second-longest on the team this season behind
Nick Hill's 12-game streak. Banko's on-base streak is still in tact, however, as he did draw a walk in the series finale to run that streak to 11 games.Â
Justin Glover now carries the team's longest active hitting streak at seven.
HEATING UP: Senior
Carter Cashman struggled through a slow start to the season, but has been heating up in April hitting .425 during the month with five multi-hit games.
WHAT'S NEXT: After today's game, the Tritons embark on a nine-game Sunshine State Conference stretch the end the season. It starts this weekend at Saint Leo before returning home to host the University of Tampa on May 6 and 7.
