ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Conference play resumes for the Eckerd Tritons baseball team as they are set to host the Florida Southern Mocs for a three game series at the Turley Athletic Complex beginning on Thursday.

LAST TIME OUT: The Tritons hosted the Flagler Saints in rescheduled contest from early February. FC got the best of Eckerd on Tuesday with a 16-2 final. Eckerd got a boost from pinch hitters in the bottom half of the seventh inning when it picked up both runs on three hits.
McCOLLOUGH'S MOUND: Freshman
Dillon McCollough has commanded the mound through the first five starts of his career. His 2.57 ERA with a minimum of one inning pitched per appearance is the third best in the Sunshine State Conference while also ranking in the top-10 for opponent's batting average at .234. Though he has two no-decisions, the Tritons are 4-1 when McCollough is the starting pitcher.
IRON MacMAHON: Matt MacMahon is the only player on the Tritons roster to have played in all 20 games during the 2016 season, and he has started each at third base. He has had a consistent season at the plate so far, hitting .323 with 20 hits and five doubles while having the team's second-longest streak of reaching base safely with 10 games, behind only
Nick Hill's active 13-game streak.
SECOND TIME AROUND: Eckerd traveled to Lakeland on March 15 for a single game in non-conference play. The Tritons took the lead in the top half of the fifth inning, but FSC returned with a big bottom half to reclaim the lead for good. The Mocs recorded 14 hits while EC was just behind with 13 as FSC won the slugfest 12-8.
