Tejada Earns D2CCA All-Region Honors

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Eckerd's Juan David Tejada was among the athletes named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-South Region Team in a Wednesday morning release of the list of honorees.

The D2CCA All-Region team is voted on by the region's Sports Information Directors and includes players from teams within the region's conferences.

Tejada, a sophomore from Panama City, Panama, was named to the second team after leading the Tritons this season with 11 goals, a total which also ranks sixth in the Sunshine State Conference.  The midfielder scored in both of Eckerd's contests in the SSC tournament helping the Tritons advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2012.

Tejada produced against some of the region's best teams, scoring twice against Palm Beach Atlantic, twice against Florida Tech and once against Lynn.

Lynn's Jack Watson was named the All-South Region Player of the Year, finishing his season with 44 points, scoring 19 goals and adding six assists. The Fighting Knights led all teams with five total selections to the team while Palm Beach Atlantic placed four.
