ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After climbing in the national rankings, the Eckerd men's basketball team looks to extend its winning streak to 13 as the Tritons host Nova Southeastern on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.

Live VideoABOUT THE SHARKS- Nova Southeastern is coming off a convincing 87-64 win over Embry-Riddle on Saturday, its largest margin of victory of the season. Chris Page led the team with 21 points while Nick Pendergast posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Casey Carroll came off the bench to score 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting.
- Chris Page leads the team and is fifth in the conference in scoring at 19.9 points per game. The senior guard from Plainfield, Indiana, has scored in double figures in all 11 of NSU's games including a season-high 30 points against Palm Beach Atlantic on December 2. Harrison Goodrick is the only other Shark in double-figures, averaging 11.3 points per game.
- The Sharks do a good job of distributing the basketball, ranking third in the conference in assists per game (17.4). They also create transition opportunities with their defense, averaging 9.1 steals per game.
ABOUT THE TRITONS- Eckerd climbed to No. 12 in the NABC Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the D2SIDA Media Poll on Tuesday. The Tritons enter tonight's game riding a 12 game winning streak, the longest in program history, after dropping their season opener to now-No. 25 Delta State (Miss.).
- The Tritons lead the conference in scoring defense (69.6 points per game), scoring margin (+13.7), field goal percentage defense (41.3 percent), 3-point percentage (40.1 percent), free throws made (272) and rebounding margin (+7.8).
- Eckerd's balanced offense has four players averaging in double figures led by senior
Jerrick Stevenson's 13.4 points per game.Â
Drushaun McLaurn (11.9),
Kevin Walsh (11.6) and
Trevon Young (10.2) also average in double figures. Walsh has been shooting the ball well from 3-point range, knocking down 47.8 percent on the season and 68.8 percent in his last three games.
- On Saturday, EC traveled to face NCAA Division I Florida Gulf Coast in an exhibition contest, trailing by one at halftime before falling, 68-57. Young had a big game, scoring 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting.
