Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – In non-conference action, the Eckerd College baseball team collected nine hits on their way to an 11-3 victory over Saint Anselm College on Monday night.
The bats were hot for the Tritons right out of the gate with
Lucas Luopa hitting a single to start off the bottom of the first.
Carter Cashman stepped to the plate two batters later smacking a triple to the left centerfield gap to score
Rowdy Andrews from first.
Cashman was far from done doing work with the bat. The centerfielder sent a rocket down the left field line in the third for a standup double plating Luopa and
Jake O'Rourke. Andrews crossed home later in the same inning on a sacrifice fly from
Grant Banko to go up 4-0.
The Hawks grabbed a run in the top of the fourth to get on the board. EC answered back in the bottom half with two more runs coming off the bats of
James Petika and Andrews.
Saint Anselm brought in their second run in the seventh before the Tritons continued to add on to their lead. With the bases loaded,
Matt MacMahon drove a double to right center bringing in two runs. Eckerd added two more runs in the inning with both RBI's coming from Petika.
Andrews drove in the final run of the game with a double down the right field line in the bottom of the eighth. The Hawks added one run in the top of the ninth, but that would be it with EC taking home the 11-3 victory.

Jared Habershaw recording his second victory of the season.

Mike Eagan and
Taylor Owens went the final five innings giving up two runs while striking out seven.
Cashman fell a home run shy of the cycle going 3 for 4 with three RBI's. Andrews collected two hits in the game knocking in two RBI's while scoring twice. Petika and MacMahon combined to drive in five runs on the night.
Eckerd (9-4, 3-1) will host Walsh University (Ohio) on Wednesday night. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
