Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, Fla. – In double header action on Saturday, the Eckerd College baseball team fell to No. 19 Lynn in both games, 4-3 and 18-1.
Rowdy Andrews got things going in the first game with a one out double to left field in the top of the first.
Carter Cashman stepped to the plate and deposited his first home run of the season to put his team up 2-0.
The Fighting Knights came back to tie up the ball game in the bottom of the second bringing in two runs. Both teams were quiet in the third inning before Lynn went up 3-2 with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.
Cashman was not done doing work with the bat driving in his third RBI of the game in the top of the sixth. The center fielder brought around
Lucas Luopa who had opened up the inning with a single.
Kyle Harding came in to pitch in the sixth replacing starter,
Kevin Plant. Harding held the Fighting Knights scoreless until the bottom of the ninth when Lynn hit a walk-off double taking the game 4-3.
Luopa, Andrews and Cashman all collected two hits apiece while
Matt MacMahon grabbed one on the day.
Game two saw the LU offense open up for 18 runs on 20 hits. The Eckerd offense was held hitless until the eighth inning.
Jake O'Rourke singled up the middle to break up the no-no. O'Rourke was later brought around to score by
Grant Banko who earned a walk with bases loaded.
Eckerd (12-9, 3-4) will stay on the road and travel to St. Augustine to take on Flagler College on Tuesday. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
