Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Eckerd College baseball team fell to No. 25 Saint Leo on a foggy Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup, 19-4.
The Lions (15-1, 0-0) proved their strength against the Tritons (8-3, 3-0) as they tallied 22 hits and tagged
Jack Silberman with his second loss of the season.
Saint Leo jumped out on the Tritons early driving in three runs in the first off of four hits.
Adam Moreau put Eckerd on the board in the top of the third as he singled in
Lucas Luopa who drove a double down the left field line.
James Petika added a run of his own when he slugged his first home run of the season over the left field fence.
SLU answered in big fashion putting up 10 runs on the Tritons in the bottom of the fifth. Eckerd then took advantage of an errant throw by the Lions that sent Moreau across the plate.
Eckerd scored their fourth run of the game off the bat of
Matt MacMahon who singled up the middle to score
Carter Cashman.
Eight different Tritons grabbed hits throughout the game with Luopa, Moreau, Cashman, and
Mike Abraham each nabbing two apiece.
Eckerd will turn their attention toward the weekend for their conference series against Florida Tech (13-0, 0-0). Game one of the series will begin Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
