Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – After taking down Colorado Christian Friday night, the Eckerd College baseball team completed the sweep and defeated the Cougars, 2-0 on Saturday.
Eckerd (4-2, 0-0) took down Colorado Christian (0-2, 0-0) rather quickly Saturday night as the contest lasted a mere two hours with offense coming at an ultimate premium. The Cougars and Tritons combined for 11 hits on the night as both sides used three pitchers in the low scoring affair.

Andrew Don singled in the bottom of the third later crossing the plate on a laser sent up the middle by
James Petika.
Carter Cashman then doubled to score Petika for the only runs of the game.
The two runs were all the Tritons would need to secure the win as they played tough defense throughout the duration of the game.
Kevin Plant got the start on the mound for the Tritons grabbing his first win of the year after red shirting last season and undergoing Tommy John surgery. The lefty went five strong innings allowing no runs while striking out three.
Zach Hoppe relieved Plant and pitched three scoreless innings allowing only one hit.
Taylor Owens then toed the rubber for the Tritons in the ninth inning and nabbed his first save of the year. The lefty gave up no hits while facing three batters and was backed by his middle infielders who made big time plays.
As a team, EC manufactured seven hits throughout the game. Cashman finished the night going 2 for 4 while grabbing two doubles and a RBI.

The Tritons will take on Ave Maria University (5-5, 1-1 TSC) Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. before opening up conference on the weekend.
