Women’s Soccer Edged by Florida Tech, 2-0

Box Score

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's soccer team fell to Florida Tech Saturday night by a score of 2-0.

The Tritons (3-2-0, 0-0-0 SSC) held the Panthers to a close match for the majority of the game.

It wasn't until the 38th minute that Florida Tech slipped one goal past the grip of Triton goalkeeper, Morgan Crescent.

Even though the Panthers held a 25-8 advantage in shots, the Eckerd defense refused to give in and held the Panthers to a 1-0 game until the 84th minute.

Arie Anahory and Bekah Allen each recorded shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. The Florida Tech defense was resilient as goalkeeper Julia Kantor made three saves to pick up the shutout.

Crescent held the Panthers to two goals as they recorded nine shots on goal. She tallied seven saves on the night.

Eckerd looks to bounce back and will play host Saint Leo University at the Turley Athletic Complex on Wednesday, with a start time of 4:30 p.m.
