Baseball Drops Game to Webber International, 7-1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Webber International University, 7-1, on Wednesday night at the Turley Athletic Complex.
 
The Tritons (20-10, 8-4 SSC) and the Warriors (22-22, 7-11 TSC) met earlier in the season at Babson Park as WIU prevailed in a high-scoring affair.
 
Webber International struck first in the fourth inning with two runs on a two-out double down the left-field line from senior Michael Moulton.
 
In its half of the fourth inning, Eckerd scored its only run of the game on a James Petika single to left field to score junior Mike Abraham.
 
The Warriors added two more runs in the fifth inning, one run in the seventh and two more runs in the ninth.
 
Freshman Benjamin Feinman earned the win and improved to 4-2 on the season. Feinman threw three scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out two.
 
Dylan Price (3), AJ Arroyo (2), Shae Cothran (2) and Ramon Sanchez (2), each tallied multiple hits to help account for Webber International's 15 on the night, while Lincoln Dunham (2), Abraham (2), Petika (2) and Matt MacMahon (2), each collected multiple hits for Eckerd.
 
Eckerd will travel to face Saint Leo University on Friday at 6 p.m. to open a three-game Sunshine State Conference series on the road with the Lions.
