SAINT LEO, Fla.
– The Eckerd College volleyball program continued to dominate on the court as it took a non-conference match over Cedarville (Ohio) University on Friday at the Saint Leo Classic, 3-0 (25-20, 25-8, 25-18), in the Bowman Center.

The win gives the Tritons (6-2, 0-0 SSC) five straight victories and its fourth consecutive sweep, while Cedarville drops to 3-9 on the season.

"I'm happy with the overall performance tonight," head coach Michelle Piantadosi said. "There were moments that I felt we could have capitalized on, but in the end, the girls pushed through to come out with a solid win."

After falling behind 11-12 in the first set, sophomore Tjasa Kotnik delivered a kill to tie the game and give the Tritons the boost it needed to go on a 6-1 run and later take the set 25-20.

In the second set, the Tritons came out attacking, going on a 16-3 run, and would win the set, 25-8.

Senior outside hitter Lindsay Biggs broke through in the third set, delivering eight of her 10 kills to help the Tritons to a 25-18 win. Biggs' 111 kills on the season move her into second place in career kills (1,240) in Eckerd history. She also tallied four block assists in the match.

Junior Katarina Milojevic and Kotnik continued to add a consistent contribution on offense with eight kills each.

The Tritons' defense helped contain the Yellow Jacket offense to a -.062 attacking percentage, its worst performance of the season. Conversely, the Tritons swung 42 kills versus 16 errors for a .299 attacking percentage.

Milojevic gave her best defensive performance on the season, delivering six of Eckerd's 16 block assists and one solo block.

Senior Kaleigh Humphrey was the lone Triton with digs in double-digits (16) while senior setter Madison Burr (19) and sophomore setter Emily Schadow (12) combined for 31 assists.

Eckerd will be back on the road for its first Sunshine State Conference matchup as it faces off against Nova Southeastern University on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale.

The Tritons lead the all-time series against the Sharks 24-21.
