2013 SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll
WINTER PARK, Fla. – Eckerd College student-athletes had a considerable presence on the 2013 Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll when the prestigious academic list was released by the league on Thursday afternoon.
A total of 800 student-athletes were named to the honor roll for the spring semester, which was announced by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones.
A number of students, 117 in total, carried a perfect 4.00 GPA for the semester.
To be eligible for the Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum semester grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00.
Participants in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, women's rowing, baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse were eligible for the honor roll.
Eckerd student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA during the spring semester included Kirby Parnell (softball), Christine Hammerschmidt (women's tennis), Hanna Segal (women's tennis) and James Patrick (baseball).
The Tritons had 37 selections for the SSC Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll, ultimately bringing the 2012-13 academic year combined total to 83 student-athletes tabbed.
